The Grove Inc. will have the exclusive right to open Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory stores in US airports where none exist under an agreement announced this month.
The agreement will accelerate the expansion of the gourmet chocolate and confection company that sells and manufactures several premium chocolate and other confectionary products.
The deal excludes Denver International (DIA), Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP), Charlotte Douglas International (CLT), Salt Lake City International (SLC), Phoenix Sky Harbor international (PHX), and Philadelphia International (PHL), but will include other high-volume airport locations.
The Grove, which owns and operates 65 food and beverage and retail stores at 13 airports in the US under several different brands, already has opened a Rocky Mountain store at Dallas-Fort Worth International (DFW) and a co-branded Grove Natural Snacks/Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory store at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International (ATL). “By combining our airport retail experience and Rocky Mountain’s reputation for outstanding hand-dipped chocolates and related products this should be a powerful strategic relationship for both companies,” says Michelle Dukler, president and CEO of The Grove, in a statement.
