The Albany County Airport Authority is evaluating two six-inch thick binders full of bids from companies competing to sell food and beverage at six locations in the airport.
Bids were submitted in early June by Dunkin’ Donuts, Bruegger’s Bagels, Subway, Coffee Beanery, CAFUA Management Co., SSP America, HMSHost Corp., and Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services.
Unlike reported elsewhere, the Authority that operates Albany International (ALB) did not delay a decision on the concessions program, says Doug Myers, spokesman. The board cannot make a decision, he says, before staff finishes reviewing the proposals.
“We simply haven’t finished our evaluation,” Myers says.
The 10-year contracts held currently by the Coffee Beanery and SSP America expire at the end of the year. Two other contracts, operated by McDonald’s and Villa Pizza don’t expire until 2018 and 2016.
