Live Performances Aim To De-Stress Travelers

Entertainment at airports is really kicking up for the holiday season.

Travelers going through San Diego International (SAN) on the second and fourth Friday of each month can be treated to live performances.

Live theater, dance and literary art are presented at Terminal 2 Baggage Claim; the seventh season of the program introduces ă Bré¨ve, which celebrates the local culture and talent of the region. Performances will also take place during the holiday season and other unique occasions and cultural observations.

The most recent show was Dec. 4 with the Bonito High School Show Choirs, two of the most acclaimed high school show choirs in the region.

“We are very proud to present our complimentary new performing art series, ă Bré¨ve, as a customer service to our patrons,” says Constance White, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority art program manager. “The responses have been overwhelmingly positive as it serves to ease the stress that air travel can sometimes create.”

At San Francisco International (SFO), the You Are Hear program aims to make traveling a little less hectic by offering a series of concerts.

The program began over the summer and went over so well, SAN decided to bring it back, says Jane Sullivan, the airport’s marketing and communications manager.

“It’s been a wonderful thing for our travelers and our employees,” says Sullivan. “We really wanted it more for the passengers. It’s been really successful,

Three concerts at a time, featuring a variety of genres music, will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday and Friday throughout at the airport until the end of December.
