Angelina’s Metro Market has opened its first location in the Central Terminal Building at LaGuardia (LGA).
The market, which will be developed and managed by MAR AIR Foods, is an upscale Manhattan-style gourmet market that features organic and natural foods. It features pasta dishes and salads with choices from 60 toppings, as well as a variety of pastries, imported and domestic yogurts, cheeses, spreads, deli meats, and fruits and vegetables, and more than 120 beverages.
“We are delighted to work with MAR AIR Foods to bring Angelina’s fresh, healthy food choices to our travelers,” says Lillian Tan, vice president and general manager of MarketPlace Development, the retail development company that manages the retail and food program in the terminal. “Angelina’s gourmet menu options will complement the Food & Shops’ existing offerings and also expand the choices for travelers at LaGuardia.”
Rich Rosamilia, president of MAR AIR Foods, says the company wanted to bring a New York experience to travelers at the airport and worked with local vendors and organic producers.
“The design and execution of this concept is the first of its kind in the airport food service industry. Angelina’s Metro Market will certainly set a new standard and raise the bar for airport concessions and gourmet eating” he says.
MAR AIR Foods is also scheduled to open an Angelina’s Panini Bar post-security at Gate B as a satellite of Metro Market, offering hot, oven-toasted and grilled paninis.
