Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar today celebrated the grand opening of his namesake restaurant, Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill, located at Las Vegas McCarran International (LAS) in Terminal 1, C Gates. The full-service restaurant was created by Sammy Hagar and HMSHost Corporation and marks the second airport location for the concept. Last year the concept debuted at Maui’s Kahului Airport. Sammy Hagar will dedicate his profits from the restaurant to local Las Vegas community charities through the Hagar Family Foundation.
“Sammy’s new island-style café© is an outstanding addition to our airport concessions program, giving Las Vegas travelers not just another unique restaurant offering but also a chance to support the local community,” says Randall Walker, director of the Clark County department of aviation. “We are pleased to continue partnering with HMSHost in delivering exceptional travel experiences for our visitors.”
Signed memorabilia from the artist’s personal collection adorn the walls surrounding the bar. Hagar, Van Halen, and other rock and surf inspired music provides the backdrop.
“Music and dining are two of my great passions. Our menu is the result of recipes and advice I’ve received from some of my favorite friends, the celebrated chefs I’ve met in my travels across America. Guests can enjoy a great meal and know that they are making a difference to local children in need,” notes Hagar.
“We are very pleased to continue our successful relationship with the Clark County Department of Aviation by delivering this exciting new restaurant to not only make the McCarran International Airport traveler’s day better, but to also support local charities – a double honor,” says Steve Johnson, senior vice president for business development.
HMSHost also operates a Wendy’s, Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, and Villa Pizza, all located in the LAS food court adjacent to Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill.
