Pink’s Hot Dogs will be arriving at Los Angeles International (LAX) later this year, due to an agreement between Los Angeles World Airports and Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services.
“LAX is delighted to add this legendary Hollywood eatery to the dining opportunities in Tom Bradley International Terminal,” says Gina Marie Lindsey, LAWA executive director. “Thanks to Delaware North, by fall of 2009, everyone traveling through TBIT will have a chance to try a Pink’s hot dog as part of their airport experience.”
The eatery, which has been made famous by numerous celebrity endorsements, will be the first airport location. It is best known for its Pink’s Famous Chili Dogs and its myriad selection of hot dogs. It has been in the same Hollywood, Calif., location since 1939; at the airport, it will be in the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
“For 70 years, Pink’s has been a must-see, must-eat destination in Los Angeles for both locals and international visitors alike,” says Pink’s owner, Richard Pink. “So it made perfect sense to bring a little bit of this Los Angeles nostalgia and history to LAX, one of the busiest airports in the world. This allows visitors from all over the world to experience Pink’s and its famous hot dogs, whether they plan a stop in Hollywood or not.”
Putting the location at LAX is part of Delaware North’s Gateway Concept, which brings local concepts to major public venues, including airports.
“We’re thrilled to add Pink’s Hot Dogs to our mix of fun, highly popular local brands at the airports we serve,” says Bob Stanton, vice president of business development for Delaware North. “We’re on a constant quest to find innovative brands and unique retail dining experiences reflecting the local flair and cultures of the cities where we do business.”
