The fall
installment of Flying Solo, Nashville International’s (BNA) Arts at the Airport
exhibition program, landed at the airport Sept. 6 and will depart Nov. 29.
“We are pleased to have such a great
assortment of visual art on display at Nashville International Airport,” said
Raul Regalado, president and CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport
Authority. “The authority’s Arts at the Airport program continues to bring the
talent of local artists to passengers and visitors as part of the Nashville
Airports Experience.”
The program
spotlights regional artists, and this installment features Justin Terry
(Ticketing Lobby North), Diana Johnson Wiles (Ticketing Lobby South), Jim
Collins (A/B Meeter-Greeter area), John Donovan (Concourse C/D Meeter-Greeter
area) and Hollis Bennett (Concourse C).
Another
exhibit, which opens Sept. 29, includes prints from the Goldsmith Press and
Rare Type Collection on the campus of Austin Peay State University. The
letterpress facility includes 60,000 hand-carved wood letters, antique printing
presses, papermaking materials and bindery equipment.
And winding
its way down is the Art of the Lost Boys of Sudan exhibit, which will close
Sept. 23. Masks, sculptures, paintings and photos by 11 Lost Boys living in the
city are on display in conjunction with the Lost Boys Foundation of Nashville.
