Delaware North, NEXTEP To Launch Digital Menu Boards

Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services and NEXTEP SYSTEMS have teamed up to make it easier for passengers at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County (DTW) to order food.

Digital menu boards are expected to be operational by Sept. 30 at two Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations, one in the McNamara Terminal and the other in the McNamara baggage-claim area.

Each of the sites will have four of the menu boards; three will display the full menu and the fourth will show video of coffee and tea harvesting, planting and processing.

“The high-tech digital display and menu boards will provide Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations with the opportunity to connect with busy travelers in a different, more dynamic way,” says NEXTEP SYSTEMS President and Co-Founder Tommy Woycik. “Digital menu boards give airport foodservice providers an alternative to traditional menu signage, with the flexibility to support immediate menu updates, media integration, and advertising and promotional images and video.”

Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen in the McNamara Terminal launched the digital menu boards, and customer response has been strong, Delaware North says.

“NEXTEP SYSTEMS and Delaware North are both respected leaders in their industries and this partnership enables us to play off of each other’s strengths, says Matt King, president of Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services. “We are already seeing more customers at our food service locations at Detroit airport and an increased order size since introducing the menu boards at other locations within the airport.”
