Delaware North, Chef Allen Team Up For Chef Allen 2 Go

Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services and celebrity chef Allen Susser have joined forces to develop Chef Allen 2 Go branded menu items for Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International (FLL).

Susser, who is best known as Chef Allen, will use the cooking influences of Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America to create sandwiches, salads, seafood dishes and desserts for travelers at FLL. Local, South Florida ingredients will be used based on seasonal availability.

“I look forward to bringing my unique style of cooking, rich with fresh Latin American and Caribbean flavors and seasonal ingredients, to the Fort Lauderdale airport,” Susser says. “This new partnership with Delaware North enables us to broaden and enhance what people expect from airport food.”

Susser has garnered numerous accolades from prominent food writers, including being named a top 10 New Chef in America in 1991 by Food & Wine; being called “the Ponce de Leon of New Floridian cooking” by The New York Times; and having his cuisine called a “New World marvel” by Time.

The new dining options will be part of Delaware North’s Gateway Concept, which aims to help airports reflect their communities and serve as economic development engines for their regions by showcasing local tastes and products.

“The Gateway Concept is something we’re very proud of and it’s helped us develop this partnership with Chef Allen,” said Matt King, president of Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services. “We pride ourselves in partnering with innovative brands that expand travelers’ perceptions of airport food. We are confident this partnership with Chef Allen will provide travelers with the unique opportunity to experience South Florida’s regional flavors and the cooking master that has made him famous.”
