Anyone looking for information on the Massachusetts Port Authority now has a new Web site to visit.
The new site, www.massport.com, features interactive maps and wayfinding, flight information on the homepage, information on the ownership and operation of Boston Logan International (BOS), container cargo and cruise passenger terminals in the Port of Boston, Hanscom Field (BED), Worcester Regional (ORH) and real estate development projects around the harbor.
There is also the GetUthere application, which offers mapping and directions to any Massport facility or tenant, as well as information on the various modes of transportation.
“In an increasingly wired world, nothing is more important for customer service than an easily accessible, highly accurate and reliable Web site,” says Thomas J. Kinton Jr., CEO and executive director of the Massachusetts Port Authority. “This new version of massport.com is our front door on the Internet and we trust our customers find it as welcoming and exciting as we do.”
The site uses Google translate to present information in more than 50 languages.
It is the fourth generation of the authority’s Web site, the first of which was launched in 1996. Massport worked with Fuseideas, a Somerville, Mass.-based company, to develop the new site, using a $720,000 contract awarded in 2008; all content was created, updated and rewritten by Massport.
