Grooming services are now available to travelers going through Portland International (PDX).
At The Barbers, a locally owned company, customers can get a haircut, hot-lather neck shaves and shoe-shine services. The grand opening, which was July 24, featured specials such as $5 haircuts and discounted hair products.
Owners Don and Alison Lovell opened their first location in 1999; they now have eight stores in Portland and eight in Vancouver, Wash.
“Our company vision is to bring back that traditional barbershop experience for our customers, and we expect this new location will do just that for travelers at PDX,” Don Lovell says. “This is a great fit for us.”
The Barbers aims to mix an old-fashioned barbershop with modern touches. Customers are given the shop’s signature neck and shoulder massage after each haircut.
It is located pre-security, to the left of the entrance to the A/B/C security checkpoint, and is marked with a lighted barber pole.
