Travelers passing through Terminal 2 near Gate 22 at San Diego International (SAN) can see a variety of sculptural pieces that appear to be “Floating In Space.”
The exhibit, by San Diego-based artist Cathy Breslaw, is part of the Temporary and Rotating Exhibits program at SAN, which gives individual artists in the region, as well as museums, cultural institutions and arts organizations, the chance to show their work at the airport.
Breslaw uses industrial mesh, beads, thread, yarn and rope in organic-shaped wall, floor and suspended art installations. Some of the pieces appear to suspend and dance from the wall; others seem to float on the wall.
“Floating In Space” can be seen through March 15.
