DFW Board Approves Concessions Contracts For Terminal A

Twenty-three concessions packages totaling 31 locations have been approved for Terminal A at Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW).

The concessions program in the terminal is being upgraded in conjunction with the $1.9B Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program, which started earlier this year.

“We are excited about the new concepts that our concessions program will be bringing to DFW passengers,” says Francisco Hernandez, chairman of the DFW board of directors. “Our mission is to provide airport guests with a world-class level of customer service and to give our passengers more of what they want through the concessions program, and we feel we have met that objective.”

Among the local, national and international brands that are new to DFW are Qdoba Mexican Grill, The Salt Lick Bar-B-Que, Pinkberry, Twisted Root Burger Co., Ling & Louie’s, California Pizza Kitchen, Cowboys Stadium Legends Club, Teavana, Juicy Couture, Gepetto’s toy store, Talie and 7-Eleven.

“Our staff did a tremendous job in researching concessions concepts and putting forth a fair solicitation process, and we were very pleased with the incredible response we got from prospective concessionaires,” says Jeff Fegan, CEO of the airport. “Because we had such a competitive process, we are confident that DFW passengers will really enjoy the new Terminal A concessions locations when they open for business.”

Terminal A construction started in February and is scheduled for completion in 2014.

The new terminal will include the allocation of 50% more space for concessions after the TRIP renovations are finished. Terminals B, C and E will go through similar RFP processes in the coming years.

ARN will feature the new Terminal A program in greater detail in next week’s News Flash.
