Airport Revenue News (ARN) is pleased to announce the winner of its prestigious Director of the Year award in the large airports category. ARN defines large airports as greater than 10 million. For 2011 the winner is Kim Day, Manager of Aviation for Denver International (DEN).
The ARN editorial staff selected from a pool of highly qualified candidates based on their excellence in the areas of leadership, innovation, revenue generation, marketing, customer service, community service and proactive efforts to advance the airport industry. The ARN staff chose Day as the candidate who excelled in all of the above areas.
“We are very pleased to award the Best Director of the Year honor to Kim Day,” says Pauline Armbrust, president and CEO of ARN. “She exemplifies the best in leadership and management of a major airport and people who have worked with and for her can attest, she is truly deserving of this prestigious award.”
“I am excited and honored to receive this prestigious recognition,” said Day. “The
success of this great airport is a direct result of the hard work and
dedication I see every day from the more than 1,100 employees who work
directly for the airport. We truly have an amazing team here at the
airport and I want to share this honor with every one of them. They
deserve recognition for their professionalism and commitment for making
DEN one of the safest and most desirable airports in the world.”
Day will be interviewed in and featured on the cover of the December 2011/January 2012 year end double-issue.
