BNA’s Consolidated Rental Car Facility To Open Nov. 1

Nashville International (BNA) will open its 1.2 million sq. ft. consolidated rental car facility Nov. 1.

The new three-level facility is across from the terminal in what was part of the airport’s Long Term A Lot; it frees up 600 spaces in the Short Term garage and increases the airport’s rental car capacity by about 1,400 cars.

“The changes we’ve made over the past few years have been designed to produce a more enjoyable Nashville Airports Experience for our passengers, and the new rental car facility is a good example,” says Raul Regalado, president and CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority. “We’ve increased capacity, not just in car rentals, but short-term parking as well. And there’s still no shuttle required to rent a car. This continues the airport’s commitment to being a great front door to the city.”

The facility features nine rental car brands; 2,400 ready/return stalls; 10 car wash bays; 21 sq. ft. of covered walkways, allowing customers to walk from the terminal to the facility; 900 linear feet of moving walkways; and an exterior art piece with hundreds of hinged aluminum pieces that sway in the wind. In addition, there are environmentally sustainable elements, such as energy-efficient lighting, the use of reclaimed water for washing the rental cars and an onsite quick-turnaround facility, saving 800,000 miles of driving each year.
