YEG Awards Contract To LS Travel Retail

LS Travel Retail has been awarded a contract to develop and operate several retail concessions at Edmonton International (YEG).

The company will operate approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of concessions space with nine concepts including news and gift shops, bookstores, electronics, apparel and fashion accessories, via national and international brands.

“We are extremely pleased with this award,” says Gerry Savaria, president and CEO of LS travel retail. “The Edmonton region and its airport have grown tremendously in recent years and will continue to grow rapidly, and this is an important market for us. The team at Edmonton airport has a great vision that will enhance traveler experience for many years to come and we’re very excited to be offered the opportunity to take part in this journey.”

The terminal building is undergoing a massive redevelopment, and LS Travel Retail’s stores will open in stages according to the phases of development; the first stores are scheduled to open in December, with completion slated for September.

“LS travel retail demonstrated best that they really understood the specifics of our market and its corresponding opportunities,” says Myron Keehn, vice president of  commercial development for Edmonton Airports Authority. “Their proposal was extremely well put together and thought through and will provide travelers at Edmonton airport with a world-class experience. We look forward to seeing the new stores open for business as early as this December.”
