HKG To Premiere First Airport IMAX

The first IMAX theater in an airport is set to open at Hong Kong International (HKG) this quarter.

The theater, which will be operated by United Artists in Terminal 2, is expected to open this quarter. It will offer 2-D and 3-D movies on a 45-foot-by75-foot screen; ticket cost is expected to be downtown pricing with price promotion, according to the airport authority.

“The airport authority constantly reviews the needs of the customers and strives to provide a pleasant and memorable experience to airport users,” says a spokesperson of Airport Authority Hong Kong.

New films and edutainment movies will be shown at the airport IMAX. Mainstream movies will be geared toward adults and children; edutainment movies will be targeted to schools and children.
