OTG Management is deploying more than 7,000 new iPads in their many restaurants and renovated seating areas at three major airports.
The airports benefiting from this roll out are LaGuardia (LGA), Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP) and Toronto Pearson International (YYZ). The function of the iPads will not just be limited to ordering food (which comes with assistance by OTG staff tasked with delivering the order in 15 minutes or less). Customers will also be able to perform various tasks such as checking into their Facebook, Twitter and personal email accounts, checking their flight status, playing games and watching news through several pre-loaded apps. All personal information is securely removed from the device the moment the home button is pressed.
“This is a unique deployment that has no precedent,” says Rick Blatstein, CEO of OTG. “We’re marrying culinary excellence at the airport with new media. In addition to the content we are already offering, we see this as a significant opportunity for broader deployment of digital content from movies to news to games.”
The full deployment will occur over the next 18 months. To date the company has deployed 300 iPads in LaGuardia’s (LGA) Terminal D.
