The Super Bowl XL VII champion New Orleans Saints now have an official team store in Louis Armstrong New Orleans International (MSY).
“Strong cooperation with the Saints management and design teams enabled us to create a retail environment that will feel very familiar to Saints fans, including an exact replica of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome built above the checkout counter,” notes Joe DiDomizio, president and CEO of Hudson Group.
Located pre-security in the east lobby near the entrance to Concourse B, the 1,522 sq. ft. Saints store features a wide selection of licensed team merchandise, apparel and collectibles which until now were only available in the team’s store in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome where the New Orleans Saints play. Customers will now be able to purchase items such as player jerseys, on-field apparel, outerwear, ladies player jerseys, footballs, signed memorabilia, banners and more.
“Securing an agreement with the Saints organization to place their store in Armstrong International Airport is a big win for us at the airport,” says Iftikhar Ahmad, director of aviation for MSY. “I want to thank Saint’s Owner/Vice Chairman Rita Benson LeBlanc for working on this project with us. This is another way to showcase our home team to our visitors and residents alike.”
The store will operate under Hudson Group in conjunction with local partners New Orleans Air Ventures II (NOAV II). The New Orleans Aviation Board has entered into an agreement with NOAV II to provide new and renovated properties over the next several months, with the revamp set to be completed by early 2013.
