LS Travel Retail Wins 2 Retail Stores At YYJ

LS Travel Retail North America has been awarded two retail stores at Victoria International (YYJ).

As part of the airport’s Revitalization Project, the two stores, Harbour Walk Shops & Duty Free and Breakwater Boutique, were created specifically for YYJ.

At Harbour Walk, customers will find travel essentials, specialty retail and duty free shops in the post-security, 1,450 sq. ft. space. The store is comprised of zones, including Tectoria, named after the city’s technology sector and offering electronics and accessories; fashion and accessories; souvenirs; and travel essentials. It will also feature a duty free zone, selling British Colombia wines, alcohol, tobacco and fragrances, along with Swarovski crystal jewelry during winter; seasonal duty paid items will replace the Swarovski products in the summer.

Pre-security shoppers will find Breakwater Boutique, offering local apparel and accessories; gifts and toys; and convenience items such as beverages, snacks and newspapers.

“We are thrilled to be awarded these two unique concept stores,” says Vadim Motlik, chief development officer at LS Travel Retail North America. “They both further demonstrate our vision, as retail planners, to accompany our airport partners in developing solutions tailored to their vision, their facility and their guests. Victoria International Airport is a partner of over 20 years and we are excited to work with them to create new experiences for their travelers”.

Both stores are slated to open in December 2013 for a seven-year term.

“We sent a challenge to the market to create retail concepts that were a much greater representation of Victoria,” says Geoff Dickson, president and CEO of the Victoria Airport Authority. “LS Travel Retail North America clearly demonstrated they understood that vision and we are delighted to welcome these new retail offerings.”
