HMSHost, Starbucks Launch Starbucks Evenings at IAD

Twenty years after starting their airport partnership, HMSHost Corp. and Starbucks have unveiled a new concept: Starbucks Evenings.

Travelers at Washington Dulles International (IAD) can visit Starbucks Evenings for a glass of wine, bottle of beer, or cup of coffee or tea; food offerings include bites, shareable small plates and desserts.

“HMSHost is very enthused to introduce the Starbucks Evenings concept and unveil it at Washington Dulles International Airport,” said Michael Jones, vice president business development for HMSHost. “The new menu will appeal directly to discerning airport customers and the atmosphere will be a pleasant reprieve from the demands of international travel.”

The menu, which will be offered starting at noon daily, includes rosemary and brown sugar cashes, crudites and smoky chipotle hummus dip, bacon-wrapped dates with balsamic glaze and chocolate fondue.

“With the help of Starbucks and HMSHost, we are delighted to offer travelers at Washington Dulles International Airport an appealing and unique food and beverage option,” says Chris Browne, vice president and Dulles airport manager. “The addition of Starbucks Evenings is particularly exciting and fitting for
international travelers looking to relax before or after a lengthy flight.”

Doug Satzman, vice president of branded solutions for Starbucks Coffee Co., says developing the concept has been a “great way to extend the Starbucks Experience into the evening.”

“Working with longtime partner HMSHost to bring the Evenings concept to the Dulles Airport has been a natural progression of our relationship, and Starbucks is excited to see the Evenings concept in an airport for the first time,” he says.
