Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL) and the Transportation Security Administration have expanded the airport’s TSA PreCheck program, opening an application site outside the airport’s secured area.
The PreCheck program is an expedited screening program allowing travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt; keep laptops in cases and keeping 3-1-1 compliant liquids and gel bags inside carry-on baggage.
This is the second site at ATL.
“At the world’s busiest and most efficient airport, we are continually working to improve the traveler experience,” says Miguel Southwell, general manager. “The addition of a TSA PreCheck application center located before security will provide our customers the ability to move more quickly through the security screening process once a traveler’s application is approved.”
ATL previously announced in January that it would open a PreCheck application center next to Gate A19.
