Global Entry Kiosks Arrive At SJC

U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International (SJC) have announced the addition of two automated Global Entry kiosks aimed at easing the arrival of passengers on international flights at the airport.

Program participants proceed to one of the kiosks, present their machine-readable passport or U.S. permanent resident card, place their fingertips on the scanner for verification and make their Customs declaration. The kiosk then issues a receipt and directs the traveler to baggage claim and the exit.

“As SJC’s international passenger activity continues to grow, Global Entry is one solution to expediting travelers and enhancing their experience as they end their journey here in San Jose,” says Kim Becker Aguirre, director of aviation at SJC.

Added San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed: “It’s fitting that technology solutions that are being developed right here in Silicon Valley are now being offered to our air travelers to make their international journey more efficient and comfortable.”
