Airmall Sponsors Minority Enterprise Development Week

Airmall Maryland, which operates concessions at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI), will sponsor Baltimore’s 2014 Minority Enterprise Development Week.

The initiative, presented by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, is designed to promote supplier diversity and inclusion in the city’s business community.

The week starts with a procurement fair Oct. 20. More than 50 exhibitors will offer local and female entrepreneurs information about contracting opportunities during sessions throughout the day. Brett Kelly, vice president of Airmall Maryland, will lead a breakout session titled “Why BWI Marshall is a Great Environment for Minority-Owned Businesses” during the fair. The company also will have a table staffed with representatives who will be there to speak to minority-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.

“Airmall has always been committed to providing opportunities for minority-owned businesses from across the nation,” Kelly says. “Specifically, our program at BWI Marshall consistently maintains one of the highest minority participation levels in the country and we’re proud of the partnerships we’ve established in the Baltimore-Washington region.”
