Denver International (DEN) this week unveiled 16 BorderXpress automated passport control kiosks designed to expedite the Customs process for international travelers. The program is available with no pre-registration and at no cost.
The kiosks allow eligible passengers to proceed directly to a self-service kiosk within DEN’s Custom and Border Protection area rather than filling out a declaration card and taking travel documents to a CBP officer. Travelers follow on-screen instructions to scan their passport, answer Customs declaration questions on the screen and receive a receipt that confirms their information. They show the CBP officer that receipt to finalize processing.
“These new passport kiosks will help to speed customers through the Customs and Border Protection process, greatly improving the international arrival experience for many of our passengers,” said Denver International Airport CEO Kim Day. “In 2013, Denver’s international passenger traffic increased by 13 percent from the previous year, and with United’s new non-stop flight to Panama City starting in December, this is the perfect time to offer this new amenity, enhancing the customer experience at Denver International Airport.”
Innovative Travel Solutions, a business unit within the Vancouver Airport Authority, won a competitive bid to install and maintain the BorderXpress kiosks at DEN.
