Mediterranean Kitchen Opens At MIA

Miami International (MIA) has added a new, healthy dining option for travelers. Mediterranean Kitchen opened this week between Gates D-26 and D-29 in the North Terminal Marketplace.

The store, which offers quick, casual Mediterranean treats, is the second venture at MIA for Ice Box Cafe, which opened in Concourse D in 2010 after a run in Miami Beach.

“Our travelers have come to expect dining choices that reflect the variety of Miami’s culinary culture and status as a foodie destination,” says Emilio T. Gonzalez, aviation director. “The Mediterranean Kitchen not only continues our efforts to bring the very best restaurant and food offerings to passengers at MIA, but also demonstrates our ongoing support in the growth of local small businesses.”

Ice Box Cafe officials say Mediterranean Kitchen’s menus reflect local tastes, seasons and trends, but also include “fresh, healthy, well-prepared and delicious food,” according to a news release. Offerings include wraps with staples such as hummus, babaganoush and Kalamata olives, and drinks including fruit smoothies, teas or coffees.
