LG Electronics, CNN Airport Network Upgrading Technology At Airports

LG Electronics USA and CNN Airport Network have installed new flat-panel LG LED displays at San Diego International (SAN), putting the duo in more than 25 major metropolitan cities across the U.S.

The companies also have begun upgrading technology at several airports, including George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW).

All told, they have more than 1,100 LG screens serving more than 1,600 gates with CNN Airport Network’s 24/7 high-definition news, entertainment and sports programming.

“LG’s leadership in advanced displays for the transportation industry complements CNN Airport Network’s compelling, entertaining and timely programming for busy, on-the-go air travelers,” says Debbie Cooper, president of CNN Airport Network. “CNN Airport Network is dedicated to meeting the needs and interests of our audience, and our long-standing alliance with LG is a key to fulfilling that mission.”

CNN Airport Network launched in 1991. It provides live satellite-delivered airport programming, with live daily news from CNN and HLN, original travel features, entertainment programming from several networks and live sporting events.
