LGA, Port Authority Raise $25,000 For St. Baldrick’s Foundation

On May 11, LaGuardia International (LGA), along with its airline partners and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, hosted Brave the Shave to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

At the event, airport employees shaved their heads to show solidarity with kids fighting cancer.

This year’s fundraiser honored Elijah, an 11-year-old who has been battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia since he was 4 years old. Currently in remission, he hopes to attend middle school in the fall.

Brave the Shave raised almost $25,000 for the foundation, which uses funds to support research for childhood cancers. This is the fifth year LGA has hosted an event and, including this year’s total, LGA has raised $145,000.
