American Express Opens Centurion Lounge At MIA

American Express unveiled its new Centurion Lounge on June 5 at Miami International (MIA). It’s the company’s first location in the southeastern United States.

The 8,000-square-foot space is near gate D-12 in the North Terminal and serves exclusively American Express card members, particularly platinum card members.

“The new Centurion Lounge is a welcome addition at MIA, both as a passenger amenity and as an employer of local residents,” says Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “We look forward to the world-class service that American Express will bring to our global gateway.”

Amenities include food by local chef Michelle Bernstein, drinks by Jim Meehan, spa treatments by Exhale Spa, work spaces with Wi-Fi and power outlets, semi-private nooks and a soundproof kids play area.

“We proudly welcome The Centurion Lounge to MIA, and we are honored that American Express chose Miami for their first location in the southeast U.S.,” says Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. Gonzalez. “American Express’ premium-level lounge is the latest example of how we continue to add world-class customer amenities and options that cater to the diverse tastes of our passengers.”
