The first of LS Travel Retail North America’s newly redesigned Relay stores, a part of its Travel Essentials program, opened at Toronto Pearson International (YYZ) this week.
The layout of the stores includes a flexible wall structure positioned like the pages of a magazine on an iPad. Text and graphics serve as a guide to the store, as well as components of the overall design. The new Relay store also will be adding various products to its shelves, including a larger selection of exclusive brands and unique items.
“We are extremely proud of this new concept and of the trust the [Greater Toronto Airports Authority] has put in our team,” says Gerry Savaria, president and CEO of LS Travel Retail. “As one of our closest and longest airport partners, we are glad to be extending our relationship with the GTAA and to be unveiling our brand new Travel Essentials flagship in their world-class facility. The Relay brand was born over 150 years ago and not only does this new design build upon its legacy as the traveler’s expert, it also sets the tone for all Travel Essentials programs in international hubs.”
This store is one of 25 stores LS Travel Retail was awarded by the GTAA in the Travel Essentials request for expression of interest at the airport.
“At Toronto Pearson, we’re happy to continue building on our strong relationship with LS Travel Retail and the Relay brand that is well known for its unique and strong travel essentials offering,” says Mike Ross, director of commercial development and passenger communications at GTAA. “Our goal is to be a destination in and of itself. That’s why we continue to develop our stores and services, which offer great gifts, relaxing indulgences and last-minute essentials for a perfect vacation. There is no doubt you will find something to do while you’re here.”
Two of the 25 stores have opened in Pier A in Terminal 3. The others are expected to roll out through 2016.
