Sacramento International (SMF) is now allowing Uber to operate at the airport. Service began Sept. 1.
“This agreement gives customers an additional choice for ground transportation services at Sacramento International Airport,” says John Wheat, director of airports. “Customers have requested this service, which now joins our complement of onsite taxicabs, shuttles, buses and limousine services.”
The agreement reached between the airport and Uber allows all UberX drivers to operate at SMF. There are no other transportation network companies at the airport, but permits are available for other TNCs willing to sign an agreement with SMF.
“Last week, Uber celebrated 1 million rides with riders and drivers in Sacramento, and this week the celebration continues as the Sacramento International Airport opens its doors to Uber,” says Jay Gierak, general manager of Uber Sacramento. “We are excited to welcome residents and visitors to California’s capital city with safe, reliable, and affordable Uber service, connecting them to the places and people they love.”
