TNC Management System Lands At McCarran

Ridesharing company Lyft arrived at McCarran International (LAS) on Oct. 26 – and so did a way for the airport to monitor it.

Created by GateKeeper Systems, GateKeeper TNC-Ops is a transportation network company-integrated live data feed that gets data from Lyft in real time when its vehicles are on the airport roadway. The program then processes the information so the airport can keep track of Lyft vehicles’ arrivals and departures, passenger drop-off and pick-up events, and trip charges.

“We view it as our job to anticipate the ground transportation needs of airports,” says Lynn Richardson, CEO of GateKeeper. “With the arrival of TNCs a few years ago, we saw the emerging data problem and started to work on solving it a year and a half ago. We’ll be ready to roll it out in earnest to other airports, regardless of their [ground transportation management] system, by mid-November.”

GateKeeperTNC-Ops supplies TNC data for airport invoice systems, aids in enforcement via mobile applications and audits trip data with trip charge reports. The software also helps companies looking to operate at LAS meet the airport’s permit data requirements.
