HMSHost Wins Restaurant Contract At SDF

HMSHost Corp. and its subtenant partner, Tinsley Family Concessions, received from Louisville International (SDF) an 8-year contract to expand restaurant services there.

The contract, which company officials say is valued at nearly $110 million, coincides with the airport’s Terminal Enhancement Project.

The companies will combine to open 11 dining venues, comprising a mix of locally inspired restaurants and national brands.

“HMSHost is extremely excited to be awarded this contract at Louisville International Airport and we look forward to opening this dynamic group of restaurants,” says Michael Price, vice president of business development. “The airport has been very welcoming to us, and we are eager to open our doors to serve Louisville travelers with the highest level of food and hospitality.”

The pre-security area at SDF will include KFC, Comfy Cow and Book & Bourbon Southern Kitchen. The Rotunda will have Starbucks Evenings and Bourbon Academy Tasting Room. The partners will open Chili’s and The Local Rustic Market on Concourse A and Smashburger, Farmers Market and Coals Artisan Pizza on Concourse B.

Tinsley Family Concessions will operate the Chili’s, Comfy Cow, KFC and Bourbon Academy concepts as a subtenant.

Book & Bourbon Southern Kitchen and Bourbon Academy Tasting Room are both HMSHost-created concepts that are designed to honor the state of Kentucky’s bourbon heritage. Book & Bourbon features a library-themed atmosphere with branded oak barrels, industry finishes and the use of reclaimed woods. More than 100 unique bourbons and a classic craft cocktail list will be available.

Bourbon Academy Tasting Room will feature an industrial vibe and a collection of hard-to-find bourbons, such as Pappy Van Winkle and Jefferson’s Presidential Select.
