Director, Airport Properties

Overall Role and Responsibilities

The Director will report directly to Stacey Kodak, EVP Properties and Business Development. They will be responsible for the overall management of the assigned advertising concession contracts, including being the main contact with each Airport Authority.  The position requires operating as the point person for internal coordination amongst the sales, marketing, operations, finance and legal department regarding assigned airport’s matters.
Airport Responsibilities

  • Be the central point of contact for the airport authority, and terminal managers
    Act as the conduit for information shared between JCDecaux and the relevant airport, thru scheduled weekly calls and bi-monthly meetings
  • Provide airport with monthly financial reports and performance summaries
  • Submit requests and seek approvals for exhibits, new locations, marketing opportunities and media, via a standardized request document
  • Solicit and negotiate with airport for exceptions to advertising contracts as requested by Sales
  • Coordinate airport required contractual documentation, including insurance certificates, bonds and audits
  • Receive and answer all advertising sales and contractual questions from airport staff
  • Attend airport events; luncheons, stakeholder meetings, concession appreciations, etc.

 

Responsibilities within Internal Organization

Sales Department

  • Notify Sales of obstructions and changes to display locations, including changes in gates and airport construction
  • Review and evaluate client initiatives, as presented by Sales, for feasibility within airport
  • Assist in client tours when needed
  • Coordinate and submit all new inventory request, including exhibits, made by Sales
  • Facilitate any special requirements for special projects in large sales contracts
  • Attend weekly meeting with Sales, Business Development and Operations to review pending and existing advertising contracts and property issues

 

Operations Department

  • Review and submit technical drawings prepared by Operations for new location request
  • Review creative submittals as submitted to airport staff from Regional Operations Director
  • Ensure that new, removed or obstructed locations are entered into monitor by Operations
  • Oversee implementation of newly contracted airport program, serving as designated program manager for roll-out

 

Finance Department

  • Review monthly franchise reports and answer questions from airports
  • Develop customized reports for airport with Finance, as required
  • Understand and be aware of client credits and changes in payments on monthly franchise reports sent to the airport by Finance
  • Inform Finance when changes need to be made to annual MAGs or percent fee payments

 

Business Development

  • Present new opportunities, locations and products for airport to Business Development for review and analysis
  • Attend and coordinate airport tours and site selections with Business Development
  • Maintain and forge relationships with non-JCDecaux airport staff, coordinate and attend meetings with Business Develop to present JCDecaux philosophy
  • Request, review and develop quarterly and annual performance presentations with Business Development, as needed

 

Legal Department

  • Review contract with Legal and be familiar with all terms and conditions of airport advertising concession agreement

 

Additional Responsibilities

Insurance/Bonds

  • Ensure Insurance and Bond requirements are up to date, sending reminders to and requesting current copies of insurance and bond certificates

ACDBE

  • Provide the VP ACDBE with all leads for advertising sales at assigned airports
  • Assist in development of ACDBE specific marketing materials
  • Develop ACDBE opportunities and networking events

Networking

  • Attend (2) industry conference annually, i.e.; ARN, ACI, AAAE, etc.
  • Join CVB and similar non-for-profit organizations and initiate local promotions for unsold advertising space
  • Business Development
  • Assist in response to airport RFP’s as needed

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
