Assistant Deputy Director of Aviation for Properties & Business Development Position At Philadelphia International Airport

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is the only major airport serving the 6th largest metropolitan area in the United States. PHL and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE), PHL’s general aviation reliever airport, are owned and operated by the City of Philadelphia. Position Summary:

The Assistant Deputy Director of Aviation for Properties & Business Development is responsible for working with the Deputy Director of Aviation on business development and analysis, as well as ensuring excellent ongoing business and property management practices for the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE). Responsibilities also includes negotiation, implementation and management of business arrangements including appropriate leases for airport space and those covered by airline use and lease agreements and terminal concession agreements. The Assistant Director also supports the Deputy on business development with consideration for the needs of other elements within the airport organization, leads and manages complex business and real property negotiations and is responsible for increasing airline, non-airline, aviation, and non-aviation revenues, and negotiating and administering leases with the airlines and other tenants to provide the operating and capital funds required for the Airport’s ongoing programs.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, or other related field; and six (6) years of administrative/management experience in program management or coordination, securing agreements with airlines, cargo carriers or other organizations at a medium to large hub airport or large complex facility, and securing agreements with airlines, cargo carriers, and other organizations.
  • Relevant professional accreditations and graduate level course work or degree desirable

Residency: New hires must establish and maintain residency in the city of Philadelphia within 6 months of appointment. Current City of Philadelphia employees must maintain residency in the City of Philadelphia while employed in this position.

Security: Must pass Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) and Airfield Operations Area (AOA) clearance at the time of appointment and maintain during tenure of employment.
