HMSHost Corp. is bringing back Airport Restaurant Month in October for the fifth year in a row.
The month-long event is the company’s version of the street-side Restaurant Week. During October, for every Airport Restaurant Month dish sold at participating locations, HMSHost will donate $1 to the HMSHost Foundation, which works to combat poverty with food, shelter, education and workforce development opportunities by directing its charitable funds to organizations that supporting that mission.
“Airport Restaurant Month is just one example of how HMSHost offers travelers unique dining experiences and culinary events in the airport,” says Atousa Ghoreichi, vice president of marketing. “Our chefs were inspired with fall ingredients, resulting in creative menus with broad appeal. Not only can guests enjoy innovative dining, they will also have the opportunity to give back to a great cause with the HMSHost Foundation.”
Host’s culinary team created a single-plated Chef’s Tasting Menu. The menu was customized for each restaurant, and larger selection of additional dishes is available, which HMSHost added this year to appeal to more passengers.
Dishes on the tasting menu include flatbreads such as the Grilled Chicken and Apple or the Roasted Butternut Squash, served with an apple pecan salad featuring baby kale, cranberries, apples, toasted pecans, feta and honey maple dressing; sandwiches like the Short Rib Grilled Cheese or the Shrimp Roll, served with seasoned sweet potato fries, pickled vegetables and an apple pecan salad; burgers such as the Bacon Spinach Stack or the BBQ Short Rib Stack, served with seasoned sweet potato fries, pickled vegetables and an apple pecan salad; and entrées like the Pan Roasted Salmon or the Rosemary Skewered Shrimp, served with an apple pecan salad, roasted Brussels sprouts and butternut squash, and the chef’s daily featured potato.
