Construction has begun on a yearlong, $20.6 million concourse renovation project at Bill and Hillary Clinton National (LIT).
The renovation includes modernizing the concourse interior, including the addition of new gate seating with in-seat chargers for portable devices. LIT will also enhance technology with faster Wi-Fi and better cellular connectivity.
New arrival and departure monitors and visual paging are also part of the renovation, as are new heated and cooled jet bridges. Additional concourse restrooms were completed last year.
“We conduct research on a regular basis that provides us with passenger feedback to guide efforts on what customers expect at their airport,” said LIT Executive Director Ronald Mathieu. “The renovation has been designed around the traveler by including items to make their journey more enjoyable.”
The project is part of the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission’s 2020 Vision Plan. It follows renovations to the airport’s ticket lobby, baggage screening and security checkpoint and a remodeled baggage claim area. In total, the commission is investing nearly $90 million in terminal enhancements over six years.
