Mission Yogurt Embarks on Season Of Giving

As the holiday season gets underway, Mission Yogurt has multiple initiatives to help give back.

At the USO location in Denver International (DEN), Mission Yogurt employees donated and served a “Taco Tuesday” lunch to military members on Nov. 15. Another lunch of hot dogs and chips will be held later this month in partnership with Sysco.

For the rest of the month the company will also collect canned goods and donate them to the Food Bank of the Rockies. Mission Yogurt will also give the organization all its extra stock of food.

In the next month, the company will host the Kick Hunger Challenge at Timberline Steaks & Grille. One meal will be donated to hunger relief agencies across the United States for every bottle of select wines served. Finally, Mission Yogurt will donate 900 turkeys and 550 chickens to The Sam Sandos Christmas Basket Program. The program makes and delivers food baskets to families in need.

“Mission Yogurt aims to support worthwhile causes with approximately 10 percent of our proceeds each year,” says Rod Tafoya, president and owner of Mission Yogurt. “So far this year the #MissionMakesADifference program has seen tremendous success with large donations of time and money to Clinica Tepeyac, One Bottle One Tree, Special Olympics of Colorado, the SCI Recovery Project and Denver Dumb Friends League. We’re excited to continue this tradition of giving.”
