During Wheat’s tenure, major changes have come to SMF. Cost per enplanement dropped from $17.61 in 2013 to an estimated $13.55 in 2017. SMF served a record 10.9 million passengers in 2017. The airport also completed several projects, including the installation of a new solar facility in 2017 and a food court remodel.
