Goetz Named VP, COO at Tucson Airport Authority

Industry veteran Bruce Goetz is the new vice president of operations and chief operating officer for the Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) where his tasks will include helping to shepherd the largest critical airfield project in Tucson International Airport (TUS) history.

Goetz most recently was the director of operations at Denver International Airport (DEN), responsible for airfield operations, terminal operations and ramp tower groups, directing and managing snow removal issues, de-icing coordination and emergency operations center.

His experience also includes working as superintendent of operations at Paine Field/Snohomish County Airport (PAE) in Everett, Washington, where the Boeing wide body production plant is located.

“Bruce has an impressive background in the aviation industry, and we are very fortunate that he has joined our TAA team,” says Danette Bewley, president and CEO of the TAA. “We are excited for him to step into this position and continue to shepherd a safe and efficient operation at Tucson International Airport and Ryan Airfield.”

TUS is currently working on a more than $200 million airfield project to improve runway safety that includes replacing the short general-aviation runway with a full-length parallel runway and the construction of additional taxiways.
