CARES Act Relief Money Begins Dispensing

This week, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao announced that relief funds from the CARES Act, which was passed earlier this month by Congress and provides $10 billion in emergency aid to airports, would begin dispensing for immediate use by airports.

“This $10 billion in emergency resources will help fund the continued operations of our nation’s airports during this crisis and save workers’ jobs,” said Chao.

The funding will ensure continued operations at many of the nation’s airports. The U.S. Department of Transportation said that funds will be made available to airports upon execution of a grant agreement.
