SEA Outlines Concessions Protocols for Healthy Flying

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) said concessionaires will be required to develop their own detailed social distancing, sanitation and other procedures under airport guidelines as part of the new, multi-phase FlyHealthy@SEA strategy.

Included in the general recommendations for concessionaires are face coverings for front and back house staff, plastic protective barriers to buffer passenger and staff interactions, employee temperature checks, reconfigured seating at 50 percent capacity for dine-in locations and the use of single-use condiments, menus, and utensils.

“With hundreds of businesses operating onsite, the airport economy provides a unique and powerful lift for the region’s recovery,” said Sam Cho, Port of Seattle Commissioner. “To get on the road to recovery we needed to re-imagine the airport experience with new health and safety measures, but we also needed healthy business partners to implement plans.”

SEA is working with the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board so that travelers could be allowed to take alcoholic beverages to-go to support social distancing.

The airport is also offering contactless food ordering through the Grab mobile service and recently announced options for contact-free, pre-booked parking at SEA lots and garages.
