Denver International Airport (DEN) this week launched a year-long pilot program with Avail Car Share to give passengers an alternate way to and from the airport.
Under the program, the first for a major U.S. airport, car owners can schedule to share their vehicle and travelers can book to borrow a car on Avail’s website.
Unlike rideshare, Avail is a car-sharing service that connects car owners with travelers looking to borrow a car for a short period.
Avail staff examines the motor vehicle records of drivers, conducts safety inspections and disinfects vehicles with high-grade, multi-purpose cleaners prior to each use. With insurance protection and roadside assistance coverage, both provided by Allstate, drivers can rest assured they’re getting an affordable and reliable vehicle.
As part of the pilot program, Avail has entered into a concession agreement with the airport and will pay DEN a concession fee and rent 10 onsite parking spaces.
