BDL Opens Terminal Testing Site

The Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) is partnering with Genesys Diagnostics to open a COVID-19 testing site in the baggage claim area of Bradley International Airport (BDL).

The BDL testing site follows changes to the state travel order that allows any passenger arriving in Connecticut from an impacted state to be exempt from the 14-day quarantine period if the traveler receives a negative COVID-19 PCR test in the 72 hours prior to arriving in Connecticut or after arriving in Connecticut.

“The CAA’s partnership with Genesys Diagnostics strengthens Connecticut’s testing capacity, helps protect Bradley Airport passengers, and helps reopen the state travel and tourism industry by giving travelers a convenient alternative to quarantine,” said Thomas Sheridan, CAA board chair.

Testing will be available seven days per week between 11:30 AM and 12:30 AM, or as needed per airline scheduling and only available to passengers traveling through BDL on the day of their testing and for airport employees. Passengers must have their boarding pass showing arrival or departure from the airport that day to receive a test and results will be available within 24 hours.

The CAAs added it may announce details regarding an additional drive-thru testing site in one of the airport parking lots in the near future that would be available to airport passengers, as well as the general public.
