Airport Consortium on Customer Trust Forms

The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) is joining with Los Angeles International (LAX), Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW), San Antonio International (SAT) and other airports, as well as industry stakeholders, in launching the Airport Consortium on Customer Trust (ACT) Program, an initiative aimed at safeguarding public health and instilling confidence in air travel.

As the aviation industry continues to grapple with the pandemic’s impact, the ACT Program will look to share, evaluate, test and launch solutions on terminal and passenger facility design, finance and new revenue generating innovations, health screening and testing, terminal cleanliness, and the implementation of touchless/self-service systems that use biometrics to smooth the journey form curbside to boarding.

“San Antonio International Airport is proud to be a partner in the launch of the ACT Program, during possibly the most critical time in the history of commercial aviation,” said Jesus Saenz, Jr, director of airports for San Antonio Airport System, operators of SAT.  “This collaboration will ensure passengers and employees benefit from innovative processes, state-of-the-art technology, and the best practices available to provide the highest level of safety and health protection, while continuing to restore confidence in airports and air travel.”

The ACT Program, which also includes Toronto Pearson International (YYZ), Denver International (DEN) and Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International (SJC) airports, will in addition pursue solutions to enable the return of international travel, including the potential development of airbridges, bubbles or corridors. The goal is to instill confidence in health and safety as the catalyst for recovery across the airport system.
