Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) said this week it is partnering with the Minnesota Department of Health to provide free COVID-19 testing at the airport.
On its web site, MSP said the tests offered are not tied to any requirements for accessing air travel, but instead are part of the state’s effort to expand its overall testing capacity in a convenient location for residents in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.
Vault Medical Services is performing the tests in the MSP Terminal 1 lobby area on Level 2 and will process the samples at its lab in Oakdale. The site is open to all Minnesotans who believe they need a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether they currently have symptoms or not.
The testing is free for Minnesotans and does not require an ID or insurance., but those from out-of-state will pay $94. The clinic utilizes saliva testing, which requires minimal interaction with clinic staff and less equipment than typical COVID testing sites and tests results will be delivered in a few days via email. MSP said reservations are encouraged, though not required.
