DEN Launches Summer Program Young Volunteers

Denver International Airport (DEN) this week announced the launch of the Teen Navigator and Collegiate Volunteer programs that will give college and high school students an opportunity to learn more about aviation and the airport while assisting passengers.

Volunteers in both programs will provide information and directions to passengers in the Jeppesen Terminal in a fast paced, high-energy environment where they will engage people from all over the world, while learning the ins-and-outs of one of the busiest airports.

Collegiate volunteers are required to be actively enrolled in a college program and must commit to a minimum of 12 volunteer hours per quarter at DEN. High school students over the age of 15 are eligible and will be required to volunteer a minimum of 28 hours during the program and be given the opportunity to participate in educational tours and trainings to expand their knowledge of the aviation industry.

“One of DEN’s goals is to create more educational and career opportunities for our community so we can provide training and better prepare potential future employees for working in the aviation industry,” said DEN CEO Phil Washington. “These new programs will give volunteers an opportunity to learn more about the airport through specialized tours and training opportunities and help them network and build connections that will hopefully lead to a future career at DEN.”
