URW Seeks New Retail Concepts For LAX

Airport developer Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Airports (URW Airports) announced two new retail leasing opportunities for Terminals 1 and 2 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The first opportunity is a local, national or international branded convenience store located pre-security in Terminal 1 arrivals. The concept should offer reasonably priced grab-and-go food and beverage items, URW Airports said.

Post-security, in Terminal 2 departures, URW is seeking to add a single recognizable brand or a shop-in-shop multi-brand retail experience.

URW has encouraged local and small businesses to apply, particularly Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (ACDBEs). The developer said its competitive bidding process is “tailor-made to promote participation with a transparent scoring system that balances commercial and customer value with overall program goals.” URW says its approach – which involves lower bid deposits, waiving requirements for renderings and printed proposals, and ongoing resources, education, and networking opportunities – ensures accessible bidding for businesses of all kinds.

URW also encourages businesses applying to be innovative in their approaches to sustainability and positive social impact.

The deadline for proposals is Thursday, July 7 at 12 p.m. PDT. Interested parties can submit questions for clarification in writing by Tuesday, May 24 at 12 p.m. PDT. Learn more at URWairports.com/leasing.
