Areas USA has promoted George Garcia to vice president of human resources. He previous was director of human resources, a position he had held since 2017.
Garcia will be responsible for helping Areas develop its people strategies by optimizing the company’s systems and processes to best support its associates. This will require a focus on talent development and retention to deliver best in class support for the organization. He will lead a team that will enhance talent acquisition, leadership development; labor and employee relations; as well as benefits, compensation and payroll.
Additionally, Garcia will work with associates to provide growth and advancement opportunities for both hourly and salaried team members to drive the organization’s overall effectiveness at a time of acute labor challenges.

Prior to joining the Areas team, Garcia was director of human resources for Eastern Airlines Group Inc. He also held HR roles at Del Monte Fresh Produce, Inc. and Florida East Coast Travel Services.
