The Salt Lake City Department of Airports has conducted a review to evaluate extending Concourse B at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) by 16 gates to the east, with the $683 million project now set for completion in 2027.
The expansion, Phase 4 of The New SLC Airport Redevelopment Program, will feature new gates flexibly-designed to accommodate both narrow and wide-body aircraft. The Concourse B-east addition will add 317,000 square feet on three levels, and bring the total number of SLC gates to 94.
The planned public spaces include passenger amenities, airline gates and holdrooms, public restrooms and a variety of lease space totaling 39,500 square feet of new concessions space. The Phase 4 will also include upgrades to the information technology infrastructure supporting fire alarm systems, security and access control systems, public address systems and airline systems.
The review established facility requirements, determined physical and economic feasibility, and defined a conceptual layout plan along with estimated construction costs.
